The ReCharge Workshop

Hey friends, Jeremy here. I’m not sure I’ve ever been more excited to announce a workshop. As an artist and photographer for 20+ years, I’m all too aware of how easy it is to get stuck in the same patterns of creation. Once we find our favorite gear or tools or presets or process, we stick to it and it works for a while. Then eventually, we’re over it and stuck in a rut and we have no idea how to get out of it.

 Enter the ReCharge Workshop.

I want to shake up your process. I want to show you things you’ve probably never done before. I want us to work with our hands and make a mess and not be afraid to throw the rules out the window.

All levels of experience apply. You don’t even have to be an artist OR photographer. The fun thing about this process is that it can apply to literally anyone… from a banker, teacher to an experienced professional artist. This workshop is designed to let each person head their separate ways in creation.

You’ll spend the first half of the day, watching me do my thing with YOU as my models. I’ll show you my insane process that mixes projection, photography, art, photoshop, acrylics and more into one big mess of fun.

The 2nd half of the day, I hand the reins to you. You can photograph each other, tell your story through your pieces. You can project important images from your life behind you in your portraits. We’ll print out your work on canvas and continue to explore. Attendees can keep shooting or spend their time doing mixed media pieces. It will be a free-for-all based on where your inspiration leads you. I’ll be with you all day to guide you along the way.

What do you need to bring? Whatever you want. It’s okay if you show up with nothing. We’ll have tools for you. But if you want to bring your own art supplies, or laptop or iPads, we encourage that. Note: You won’t need a camera because you’ll be shooting with my camera (The Canon R5) and don’t worry, no knowledge is necessary for this camera. You’ll just be hitting the shutter button.

This is going to be a BLAST. I can’t wait to explore with you!

 Q&A

When are these taking place?
Right now we’re offering 2 dates… Saturday, August 25th and Saturday, September 28th, 2021

Where will this workshop be located?
In my studio at The Factory in Franklin, TN

What if I’m paranoid or insecure about making art alongside you or others?
Don’t be! Besides, my art process is very childlike… lots of paint scraping and scribbling. If you can draw a stick figure, you’re capable of hanging with the rest of us.

What do I need to bring?
Really whatever you want. If you’re own your own laptop with programs like Adobe Photoshop, please bring it with you. iPads or other digital art-making devices are also recommended. You can also bring your own traditional art supplies if you’d like. No cameras are needed though.
