From the mind of celebrity photographer and artist Jeremy Cowart, Block Queens is a Web 3 exploration of the creative process. Though it’s not the first generative art project, it might be one of the first to combine this many mediums as one: digital photography, polaroid film, projection, acrylic, canvas, charcoal, graphite, oil stick, marker, photoshop, Capture One Pro, Procreate and JavaScript all come together to create this one-of-a-kind body of work.

Created by celebrity photographer and artist Jeremy Cowart, Block Queens combines years of portraits Jeremy has taken from A-list celebrities to faces he has photographed around the world.

Jeremy has painstakingly created over 888 unique layers from his art and photographs and then partnered with JavaScript code to explore and generate 888 combinations of his 888 layers. He then went through and curated the 888 down to 444 finals, which resulted in the Block Queens series.

“It feels like 30 years of art-making has led to this moment. I started drawing abstract portraits as a teen and my portrait obsession never stopped, whether it was with a camera, paint brush, Apple Pencil or computer. Block Queens is the culmination of decades of exploration. I’ve never been more proud of a body of work.”
