Not many know this, but I grew up in a very musical family and grew up in the church, singing all the time with my brothers and parents. I also spent tons of time doing all the high school and college chorus trips and camps. On top of all that, I spent years in the recording studio as a kid (in a small group of other kids), singing backup vocals for artists like Willie Nelson, John Denver, Alabama, Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant. I guess this qualifies me as a true Nashvillian doesn’t it?
Needless to say, I’ve been missing music lately. My brother and his wife, Benji and Jenna Cowart, kept the family singing traditions alive and they are worship leaders in Buffalo, New York. They also have recently released 2 albums called “Letters to the Church of Buffalo” and “The Worth It All Project“. I highly recommend both.
Recently I was at their house in Buffalo, and we decided to sing one of their songs, like old times. I think I’ve been too embarrassed to share this but I finally figured why not. Enjoy…
my arms are covered in goosebumps, you have nothing to be embarrassed about at all. embrace all of your talents! : )
Thank you for sharing this incredible song!!! Benji & Jenna are the worship leader at the church I had gone to nearly my entire life. I am now living overseas with my husband as he serves active duty in the navy. Thank you for sharing a piece of Buffalo, NY with me from 6,000 miles away. I am blessed.
